Many cultures have ritual greetings in which the crown chakra or the notion of ‘control’ is being acknowledged. For instance, the act of bowing is an act of deferring control to the person to whom you bow. With this in mind consider the phrase “off the top of my head” as an answer to someone asking how you knew something. This colloquialism is a reference to the crown chakra or what a clairvoyant refers to as your knowingness. So in bowing to a person, you are deferring to their knowingness or information –- to many this is a sign of respect.
